Gratitude

Spring Floral 300x176

I thank you for being a part of my JOURNEY.

With the MS Walk 2017 approaching next weekend, I am blown away yet again by the generosity of so many people to this cause. Without the donations, new and improved medications like the one I am on are available to those living with MS. I am able because of this medication and because of the generosity of so many. So to begin to say thank you is an understatement that will never be able to be fully shown. I will sure try to though!

Thank you for your love and support!

Stay healthy, happy, and strong!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!

Wishing you a joyous filled day with the ones you love remembering this…

“It was no accident, no coincidence, that the seasons came round and round year after year. It was the Lord speaking to us all and showing us over and over again the birth, life, death, and resurrection of his only begotten Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ, our Lord. It was like a best-loved story being told day after day with each sunrise and sunset, year after year with the seasons, down through the ages since time began.”
? Francine Rivers, The Last Sin Eater

Stay healthy, happy, and strong!

Hooray!!

Hands Up Photo 200x300

Hooray!!!

MS Walk 2017 is quickly approaching on Sunday, May 7th, 2017.

I want to send out a THANK YOU to all who have donated to the cause. I have a goal of $10,000 for my 10th year living with MS and hope I can reach it! It is because of generous donations to this cause that new and better medications are provided to those living with MS.

Something I will be forever grateful for!

If you would like to donate to help find a cure and better medications, I would be so thankful!

Make the Time

Clock Image 300x223

Make the Time

We are all busy. Every single one of us has out “own” kind of busy. Some of us have full time jobs that surpass the typical 40 hour work week, some are stay at home moms, some are care takers of family members, some are part time mom/part time job. Whatever it is that you do, we are all busy, but we also need to make the time.

We need to make the time to do the things we love. Make the time to say “I love you” and “Thank you.” Make the time to go to church service on Sunday. After all, God always makes the time for us, we need to make the time to worship Him.  We need to make the time to be with our family, friends, loved ones.

Time is the one thing we are guaranteed in life. So why not make the time?

Stay happy, healthy, and strong!

XO

Write It Down

Plain Book Pic 300x200

Write it down, make it happen.

One of my favorite statements.

I am an old school fan of actually writing things down, not always putting everything into my phone. When you actually see your goals, your dreams, your to do, and so forth in your own handwriting, it seems to stick in your head better and more memorable.

Make a note from the note.

Make a reminder of what to do to make things reality.

Add pictures from webpages if using a device.

Make a collage from magazines or articles.

Timeline if you need it.

Get creative to have fun with your writing!

So what would you write down? Try it. And watch those dreams and goals flourish! xo

Keep Going

Shoes On Stairs Image 300x200

Just keep going my friends. No matter what, keep pushing, keep moving forward. The past is in the past. What happened yesterday or even ten minutes ago is done and over with. We all tend to get stuck in the “What if?” the ” Why did that happen?” or “I wish…”

Trust me people. I went through all those questions the hardest when I was diagnosed with MS. But instead of going there, I remember asking the doctor after telling me I had MS, “Will I be able to have children still?” And from then on my fight forward with this disease so I could be a mommy and an ABLE mommy began.

I encourage you to keep going forward and live the life God created for you. He created all good things for those who believe!

Love Conquers Everything

Hand Heart Post Pic 300x200Love Conquers Everything.

I learned this from my Grandpa Rolison. He had this quote on a ring he wore that I was fortunate enough to get when he passed. It is the most simplest and most true statement. Don’t you agree?

As long as we have love, love is all you need.

So many forms and ways of love that we need to incorporate in our daily lives. Love your family, friends, your self, your job, your belongings, your ability, love what you have to offer to others, and more. By putting love into all things, there is nothing you can’t conquer and do. Just have the love and the thought behind you and in you. XO

Pray

Prayer Hands Image 300x200For quite some time now, it’s been on my mind and in my heart to revamp my website and really, truly make something out of it. I decided a blog style is best to share my life with others. I know God has plans for me, bigger than my own, and I am following just that. I pray that God shows me the way to help others, inspire others, and to encourage others to live happy and healthy.

Now with that said, I want to encourage you to think about what it is in your life that has been on your mind to do. Pray to God to guide you in those endeavors and wait patiently for Him to answer. Trust me I know waiting is a hard thing to do, but remember God’s timing is perfect. So, where are you going to start with this idea of yours?…

PRAY

Simple as that my friends. Start praying about things and people in your life. It is the one sure thing we can always do and it never fails. XO

My letter to Newly Diagnosed

Welcome!

Even though I know you are not thinking happy welcoming thoughts nor even being happy at this time, I still welcome you to this journey with me and everyone else fighting this disease.

Let me start off by saying…it sucks. It sucks that you are going through this, it sucks you were diagnosed, it sucks to hear those words, it sucks how bad you feel, it sucks the cost of medication and health care, it sucks your life has been altered, it sucks you have a disease. It flat out sucks.

Then I will say…you can do this. You can fight this disease. You will fight this disease. We are so fortunate to have all the resources and medications out there today. Research is being done each day to help improve the lives of those living with MS and one day a cure. Your fight in this disease is not just in taking a treatment but in your attitude in your fight as well. You have to go through all the emotions necessary to get the positive attitude in you that will make you do everything you can to live an able, healthy life. Positivity goes a long way and lifts you up to greater possibilities in life.

Don’t give up. There are going to be days and times when you do not want to do what is best for your health. But I am here to tell you, don’t give up. Your health, your life, you, you deserve it. You owe it to all those who love and support you in this fight to be the best you cab be. Most importantly, you owe it to yourself because you are amazing. You were given this disease because you were strong enough to handle it. After all, God doesn’t give you more than you can handle. Don’t forget that and don’t give up.

Continue to do your homework and research in MS. You are your own advocate. You are the only one who knows how you feel. Every person with MS has their own MS. Meaning, you may experience things other MS patients may not. So it is your own MS. Stay on top of your health. It is overwhelming at times but so very important to do.

I tear up writing this remembering what it was like to be first diagnosed. I think of how far I have come since being diagnosed and know I am the person I am today because of this stupid disease. I have MS and I will forever give it one hell of a fight as long as I can. My three blessings that I am so lucky to be their mommy deserve it.

Hope this helps those who are being diagnosed each day! Blessings and hugs to you all!

What to do…

I often get asked this question when at my speaking engagements.

” What is something someone can do for their family member or friend who has MS?”

So I wanted to share what you can do and/or say to them.

  1. Do not assume that everything is fine if they look fine on the outside. Remember with MS, a lot of the problem is happening on the inside where you can not see all the time. Does not mean someone is not in pain, not feeling well, can’t feel some part of body, etc.
  2. Don’t feel like a bother and avoid the “elephant” in the room. MS being the elephant if you know what I mean. Sometimes people tend to feel like they are bothering someone with MS if they ask how they are feeling. In my opinion it is just the opposite. A lot of times people forget what MS-ers go through day in and day out. So asking someone how they are just shows you care.
  3. Tell those fighting this disease or any illness for that matter that they are doing a good job. Encouragement always helps and helps anyone. It makes the fight of getting better stronger when you know you are supported.
  4. Pray for those you love. I feel the answer to everything when you do not know what is best to do. Pray. Simple, powerful, and everyone can do it.
  5. Support events that help find a cure and make a difference. Having support and people who have your back means the world to that person. And probably in more ways than you will ever know.

Hope this helps those who may have been wondering the same question often asked!
