Walk by Faith
This bible verse gets to me EVERY time. And here is why…
I was first diagnosed with MS due to loosing vision in my right eye. It took over six weeks to fully get my vision back thanks to IV steroids every day for a week and time. My Ophthalmologist is someone who I will forever be beyond thankful for that he found this disease early through my eye. Besides being a wonderful doctor, he is the absolute sweetest. I look forward to seeing him every appointment just to see how him and his family are doing.
Now this is something not too many people know. My MS has effected my eyes the most over the past 14 years of living with MS. My optic nerves in both eyes seem to not be getting better but more damaged. My vision does go blurry at times with extreme heat, stress (good and bad), when I get sick, and sometimes for no reason.
So to read, ” I will walk by faith even when I can not see, ” could possibly be my motto one day. But hopefully not soon or ever. Each time I get the news of the nerve not looking too great, I think to myself,” Well, I better enjoy what I can see while I can!” And to be honest, when I say that or think that, I get a panic in the pit of my stomach to think this is something that could happen having MS. But, it is my reality of having MS even if I do not want to admit it at times.
On the positive note of all of this (we have to see the positive, it helps get through the negative, right?), knowing in the back of my head this is a possibility, along with the many other not fun things that can happen with MS, I appreciate the moments I can see my children smile, when I can see my children grow up, when I can see my husband smile at me and his handsome face, when I can see the amazing artwork in the sky from God, and when I can just SEE everything!
Appreciate all you have and all you can do. Please. Use my story as a reminder. Life is amazing, so enjoy it!

Be the Light
This bible verse is such a good one, isn’t it? Be a LIGHT for all to see. We all know there is light and there is darkness. Some may like the light some may like the dark.
But something magical happens when the light shines down on us from above. Each morning sunrise sheds light on a new day. One to enjoy, be grateful for, do the most with, and appreciate. I also think those same things in the like for the sunset. The sunset reminds us of the wonderful things that happened during the day, how grateful we are for the day we had, and know that tomorrow is a new day to be better than before.
Light by definition means something that makes things visible. I encourage you all to be the light for others to visibly see God’s amazing work in you and through you. Make God’s teachings in you be seen for others to take notice and want to emulate as well. Have others see God through you. Be the light of God for others with your good work and values that you share with others.
After all, God’s light made us who we are today. So let’s keep following that light and SHINE BRIGHT for all to see!

Life Through Your Children’s Eyes
This past weekend, we spent the day on the farm riding snowmobiles, sledding, being pulled on sled behind snowmobile, and even some winter walks on the farm. It was a beautiful winter day with the sun shining down on all the beauty of the farmland.
At one point, my little man asked me to ride with him on snowmobile to go explore. And I am so glad it did. We went to different parts of the creek to look and see what we could find. We found many different animal tracks and made up stories of what kind of animal it was and what were they doing. I took in the beauty of the ice surrounding each tree branch with snow then on top. The snow and ice glistened so brightly and sparkled in the sunlight. All you could think is, ” WOW, this is so beautiful. God’s creation is amazing in so many ways.”
A few times as Lance was exploring I found myself wanting to go back where everyone else was. But then I saw the excitement in his eyes, the discovery he was making on his own to show me, and knew my time was meant there with him to enjoy.
We tend to want to be here, be there, be everywhere, when sometimes we just need to stop and be present. And truly be present in the moment. The moments in life come and go so quickly. So if we can take the time and really try to be in the present, I think not only our children will love it, so will we.
And it was all capped off with one of the best Mother/Son moments, I hope to never forget. Lance said to me on our ride back, ” Mommy, you make my heart so happy.” And that is what life is all about. I thank God for that moment in time and will try to continue to be present. Truly present in moments that will be remembered forever.
