Think about this…when you are out on a walk or a run, do you tend to always look ahead or look down at the ground? Or little of both? For me, I would say I used to do a little of both. Until…

One night I was out on a run. Now I should tell you, before I went outside to run, I was in my basement running on the treadmill. The kids were down there with me on their rollerblades being wild and crazy, typical kids having fun. For some reason that night they just seemed extra loud. Then, Nathan came down and asked me a question about an item that was not where it was normally in the basement. It was then, I had lost patience with my family and myself. I am not proud of this moment, however it happened. I turned the treadmill off and even though it was still sprinkling outside, I marched up the stairs and out the door to run. Real mature, I know.

However, when I was just about to finish my run I noticed a beautiful sunset to the west. One of the most beautiful ones I had ever seen. Then while looking ahead to the east, I see a beautiful rainbow. I kept running backwards to see sunset then forwards to see rainbow and capture the beauty of God’s work. Of course, since I left so abruptly I did not have my phone with me to take a picture.

I thought to myself, ” Wow, how amazing is this?! And I do not deserve this kind of moment with how I acted,” I was in awe of the fact God placed me in that moment to look up at the sky and see the wonders of his work. I next began to think of how many times may I have missed a beautiful moment in time because I always look at the road ahead while running, never looking up to take notice of the world around me. I am usually too busy listening to music or podcast to take notice of anything more. But not anymore. I take notice of God’s beautiful creations all around. I look up to see the sky and all its’ glory. I notice things I may have never seen and grateful I do now.

I encourage you to do just the same. Take the time to look up. Take the time to notice the amazing works of our God all around us. No matter where you live or where you are headed always, always look to God first, and keep looking up. Beauty is all around us.

I don’t know about you but sometimes I wonder what on earth am I doing and is this something I am suppose to be doing in my life? And you know what? We are exactly where we are suppose to be in this very moment of each one our lives. We may not like it, may be lost, or are enjoying this time. Any circumstance you are in or feel, is where God had placed you to be.

So with that being said, there is no reason for doubt or uncertainty on where or what we are doing in our lives. When you believe in yourself and know God is with you every step of the way, it brings you comfort and peace. God has you in His arms and is waiting for you to trust in Him to place you where you are meant to be. As well as giving you the assurance to believe you can do anything!

How many times do you think ,” What am I doing” or “Why is this going on in my life right now?” EVERYONE thinks these things or some sort of thinking of this at some point in their life. But we shouldn’t doubt ourselves or be hard on ourselves because right at this moment is where you are meant to be.

God had this moment and this Season of your life already planned out. He also has equipped you with all you need during this time. Whether that be, location, people, circumstances, gaining, taking away, learning, adjusting, and so much more! This isn’t tp say you are where you are meant to be is what you want all the time, but trust it and believe in yourself enough to know that you got this, and know God is right there beside you.

And NEVER, NEVER, stop BELIEVING!

I say to my children every morning getting out of the car for school, ” Do Good, Be Good.” And of course, ” I love you!” And I know one day, probably sooner than later, I will be shouting that just to embarrass them. Ha!

But friends, we need to do more good and be more good. This world has so much going on, we tend to forget what truly matters. Being good people. Showing others how to be good people. It doesn’t take much, truly.

When I see others doing good things, I tell them how nice that was to see. Or I point it out to my children so they can see others doing good. It makes a difference. When we see others actions, a ripple affect can happen. One person just needs to start it. Bring this back to a world that is good. The media only shows the bad and makes so many things seem worse than they actually are. So, let’s unite together to bring the good back.

Believe in the good again.

I know I want this for everyone, we deserve a happier way of living. This Pandemic has taken so much from us, let’s honor those lives lost by being the good and doing the good.

I used to be such a planner. Hence the words, used to be. If things didn’t go the way I planned, I would question myself, get worked up, and dwell on it. I had big plans for my life, where I would live, where I would work, what my family would look like, etc. I am pretty sure I had it all written down somewhere too.

Even the day I lost vision in my eye I remember saying, ” I was going swim suit shopping today. I did not want to spend my whole day at the doctor’s office.” Again, planned that day but God had a different plan for me, even if I didn’t know it or want to know it, really.

One of the best things, and I truly mean that, one of the BEST things that has come from my diagnosis of MS is knowing you do not always have to have a plan. Because MS does not care if you do, MS will do whatever it wants and when it wants. There may be no plan to help prevent that. And at times the most simply actions of BREATHE, LET GO, AND TRUST WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT is the way to live. And trust me, it works. It allows you to just stay in the moment, live your life, and trust in your faith in God. It’s a medicine that no one can give you a prescription for. I call it God’s medicine. Want to take this mindset for your life?

I know it will be the BEST medicine you will ever want to take.
